Well the 2024 Anime Season is nearly at the end and there was a lot more anime I watched even if at times I struggled to catch up
So here's all the 2024 anime I've watched during the year and enjoyed
(stuff I dropped or lost interest in I won't include)
Up first is my first Precure show I watched that was on air and will be finished soon (I'll make a seperate blog about my precure journey when its done!!)
Wonderful Precure
A fun adorable magical girl show about animals and taking care of them and helping them out unlike the other Precure shows it doesn't have a lot of fighting due to the show not wanting to promote animal abuse and the importance of animals and taking care of them and helping them
the recent episode episode 43 really tugged on the heartstrings especially talking about an old pet and dying and really handled that subject well
I adored all the characters
the designs of the magical girls and the fun little adventures they all have
this show was indeed a WONDERFUL time and honestly suggest this to any magical girl lover or animal lover
speaking of magical girls
there was A LOT of magical girl type shows that came out this year
and all of them had their own spin to it starting with
Magilumiere Magical Girls Inc.
A more mature spin on the magical girl genre with adult characters helping out the town against monsters
I really enjoy the fun spin they put on the magical girl genre with this show and how fun some of the characters are in this its a really great show and I look forward to reading the manga of it when I can
this is bascsailly about a girl who admires magical girls but ends up with the villian instead with some silly slapstick and fun little moments a more general audiences version of another magical girl show (You'll see what I mean soon :3 )
The Magical Girl and the Evil Lieutenant Used to Be Archenemies

a silly cute romance about a magical girl and a villian falling in love a very cute little romance with some beautiful animation
I had fun with this one
what if Little Witch Academia but even more gay and with some cute girls and fun magical adventures and pretty animation
a very fun cute show with strong lesbian vibes
really enjoyed it
Wistoria Wand and Sword
What if Harry Potter
but not transphobic and shitty but also very heavy on shonen vibes and fun awesome adventures
A story of a boy who while struggles with magic is very good with the sword and mixing some magic elements together did not expect this show to go hard
but holy shit it did and I look forward to season 2 of this
had some pretty great fighting scenes and character development
Himitsu AiPri
a cute idol show with pretty cards
fun songs and good background noise with cute girls and good times
an adorable musical show in Pretty Rhythm or PriPara Franchise which is another journey I need to do one day
very cute show if you want something as background noise or see cute girls doing cute things and dancing and singing
some of the songs I really enjoy a lot too
2.5 Dimensional Seduction
All about being an otaku and cosplaying
A guy who only loves 2D girls starts to find 3D girls in his life who want to do cosplay
I really love the passion everyone has for what they enjoy and the way they showed otaku culture and how cosplay and stuff worked in Japan
and some of the story and characters was also really good too
can't wait to see which girl the guy ends up with
although the one I relate a lot too is Noa for being very introverted and scared of other people hating her and stuff shes so precious and I could see her and I being besites

What if 1 girl could be ALL THE GIRLS
a fun silly romance anime about a girl who wants to be an actress and plays different personalities of different type of girls (not like DID)
this was a fun watch and had some pretty good moments

Thanks to my partner I decided to watch this with them and honsently had a really good time with this and how wacky and chaotic it was it made me remember why I loved anime in the first place and how creative it gets at this

A cute little show about a mushroom pup who comes to life to help someone grieving after they lost their pet
its cute and amusing at times
not the strongest of the shows I watched this year but still fun at times
Whisper Me A Love Song
Man this show had potential to be the cute lesbian version of given
but it just left me disappointed and sad to hear what happened behind the scenes with the show and the issues it had
but there was some still some stuff I enjoyed about it regardless and hopefully the manga will be a better read

A cute trans girl and their love for cute things, their childhood friend and a girl who has a crush on them finally a love triangle that doesn't make me want to gag or be annoyed or triggered as the characters and their interactions are very well done and entertianing and I feel this anime is very good LGBT Rep not just cause of the trans fem/crossdresser character but also the 2 other characters as well and their own sexuality issues and other issues they go through

My Wife Has No Emotion
A fun cute romance about a guy who got a robot girl who falls in love with him and they end up getting married and go on cute little slice of life adventures its one of those turn off your brain type shows to be honest its cute
The Many Sides Of Voice Actor Radio
Really enjoyed this one and learning about how voice acting and radio shows work in Japan and seeing the two main girls and their development and friendship (and maybe even lowkey gay vibes lol)
Train To The End Of The World
If you thought DanDaDan was too much of an acid trip maybe this show might be while still an acid trip and chaotic at least chill at times of cute girls going on a train trip to the city to find their friend and go on wacky trips along the way its a drug trip but super fun

Honestly now one of my fave animes of all time THE GOAT of 2024 about girls following their dreams and struggling with their issues when it comes to creative industry and the expectations of society with beautiful art and beautiful music this anime will have a special place in my heart of being an amazing masterpiece with a lot of themes I can relate too especially with the chatacter Kiui and their non-binary vibes also some adorable lesbian moments too seriously adore this show so much
Vampire Dormiotory
Man I really am reliving my teen years with this aren't I? A vampire show about a girl who gets mistaken as a boy and even at one point turns into one temporarily its dumb and cliche at times I will admit but it was amusing
Studio Apartment, Good Lighting Angel Included
A cute fanservice harem show with angels, ghosts, vampires and even kappas
Super adorable
A Sign Of Affection
A romance with a deaf girl and a guy who goes around the world with some good character moments and good repsentation of a deaf person using sign language and stuff really good show to be honest
Fluffly Paradise
I usually loathe and get annoyed at isekais but this I made an expecation with as my age regression anime of being a smol person helping out cute and adorable animals its actually a very lore heavy show at times even if its just about a small girl helping out animals and stuff I kind of hope for a second season to this
Grandpa and Grandma Turn Young Again
A wholesome yet heartrenching show at times about two grandparents who get another chance at being young again a very sweet slice of life with some very feelsy moments about appreciating life and romance and friends and family loved this one a lot
And now the one I saved for last as one of my fave animes besides Jellyfish Can't Swim At Night
Gushing Over Magical Girls
Now I 100% understand this show isn't for everyone due to its fanservice and sexual themes so I know this show won't be for everyone and not for all magical girl fans
But regardless
I FUCKING LOVE HOW BALLSY THIS SHOW IS AND SUPRISNELY HOW WELL WRITTIN IT IS
Utena Hiiragi may be a pretty into her kinks and loves being naughty to magical girls but credit where credit is due she understands the magical girl concept and its themes and loves being a magical girl otaku despite being lewd about it
The facial expressions in this show at times is also really good and also meme worthy at times but as silly and lewd this show is at times
I refuse to feel shame and guilt for enjoying a show like this I know its not for everyone and thats fine but I enjoy it and I don't want anyone stopping me from enjoying it cause I felt shame and guilt for a long time enjoying ecchi or fanservicy shows and now I'm at a point in my life where I don't want to feel this shame and guilt about it anymore if its not your thing thats okay I will respect that and if its not your thing
I suggest Acro Trip, and Magilumiere Magical Girls Inc. as a non lewd versions of magical girl shows with similar stuff
But yeah even if your not a fan of ecchi or fanservice type stuff credit where credit is due it understands the magical girl conpect and has its well written moments at times
Looking forward to when season 2 of the show comes out soon and hopefully the manga will be out of hiatus soon hope the author gets well soon
